Fred Harvey Era Souvenir Naja Cuff Bracelet
Fred Harvey Era Souvenir Naja Cuff Bracelet
This Fred Harvey Era cuff bracelet is a great example of unmarked souvenir jewelry from the mid century, collected and treasured by multiple generations of travelers.
This particular bracelet came to me in a set of three of similar design owed by someone here in Wichita, Kansas. Upon researching, I think it may date to around 1950-60. It is made in 925 Sterling Silver, in an “appliqué” style, quickly and efficiently out of premade pieces.
It features a turquoise stone in a round shape in a lovely shade of sea green with lovely mint colored specks throughout the round cabochon. The stone is set in a beaded round bezel with bright sterling horseshoe-like najas flanking it on each side.
The bracelet is a cuff style, and very small, fitting a 6.5 wrist well; it may be too small for a size 7 to fit comfortably. It would look great stacked with permanent silver jewelry or other turquoise cuffs and, although it has been buffed slightly to determine its age and qualities, the originally patina is still intact, indicating it’s 30+ years of use.
